Ride Idaho Announces Segment Ride for the 2019 Tour
Have you ever wanted to do a fully supported week-long bicycle tour but never had the time or funds to do a full week?
Well, now you can!
This year, Ride Idaho is now offering a limited number of openings for a segment ride of the 2019 tour in Boise and the surrounding area.
Come and experience what many riders have across the country and ride with us. You will enjoy a great route, meet new friends, eat delicious food, and listen to fantastic music while enjoying the beer/wine garden and the incredible scenery!
Your segment will begin Saturday, July 13th with registration packet pick up in Boise at Discovery State Park, where you will enjoy a beverage and dinner while listening to the musical talent and harmonies of Blaze and Kelly. Tent camping is available and included with your registration for the segment. The following morning, you’ll wake up to the aroma of specialty coffees by Slow River Coffee for those of you that need your fix and then enjoy a fabulous breakfast. Once fueled, you will begin your trek up Highway 21 thru Idaho City and ending that day at the South Fork Lodge in Lowman where we will overnight.
On Monday the 15th, you’ll journey along the deep canyon walls that hold in the majestic Payette River with opportunities to explore and soak in several hot springs and a geothermal pool before we reach Garden Valley where we will be camping at Starlight Mountain Theatre. That evening you will be treated to dinner and an outdoor showing of the Tony-winning Broadway hit “Newsies”, under the stars and along the river bank, a memory that will last you a life time.
Tuesday, July 16th you will take a short ride down hill to Banks where everyone will dismount and board a raft to float the Payette River to the Cascade River Adventures take out. From there, you will be shuttled to Horseshoe Bend where you will find your bike waiting to mount and conclude your ride in the city of Emmett. Emmett will be celebrating their 85th Cherry Festival in June of this year. It’s possible there will be themes around “Cherries” so don’t miss out.
This will be the end of your ride and each segment rider will be responsible for their own transportation back to Boise and we hope there will be segment riders willing to carpool.
The segment registration includes tent camping, 3 breakfasts, 3 lunches, 3 dinners, several fully stocked rest stops, shower truck, Starlight Mountain Theatre show ticket and the raft trip down the Payette River. All of this for only $550.00, while all beer/wine is no host.
